The Savages SYNOPSIS:
Landing on a planet in the distant future the TARDIS crew of the Doctor, Steven and Dodo find a world inhabited by an advanced civilisation ruled by Elders and tribes of savages. The Elders leader Jano welcomes the time travellers giving them gifts stating their exploits have been admired from afar but the Doctor is suspicious of Jano's motives.
Dodo discovers that soldiers are capturing the savages outside their city and are using advanced technology to drain their life force to maintain their citizens. The Doctor opposes this amorality and is subjected to the energy transfer process, his life force is sent into Jano but the plan backfires when Jano also takes on the Doctor's personality and morality.
Steven and Dodo have met with the savages and found out they too were an advanced race before the energy transfer experiments. They persuade the savage tribes to help them rescue the weakened Doctor from the city. Jano's personality crisis makes him agree to help the Doctor but first must attempt to convince the other Elders to end the oppression of their fellow inhabitants.
